How do I choose beading thread and thread conditioner? My friend Wendy McCarley asks me questions about beading sometimes. Today was about fishing line for thread. I gave her my honest opinion. Fishing line gets old and brittle. Sometimes it turns yellow and eventually it will break or crumble. I use nymo thread It is a nylon beading thread and it comes in 4 sizes. Size B for larger heavier beads, size D for large light weight beads, size O for pony beads and seead bead sizes 5-8, and size OO for seed beads sizes 11-15.
Beading thread tangles really easy so you will need a thread conditioner. You can use beeswax or Thread Magic which is a replacement for Thread Heaven. Beeswax gets hard and tends to make your beads look waxy and dull. with Thread magic it conditions the thread but doesn’t leave any residue on your beads. I prefer Thread Magic.
